The Crottin D'Antan

£4.00 GBP

Crottin de Chèvre – 60 g

This pasteurised goat’s milk cheese is easily recognized by its thin, beige, slightly wavy rind with natural yeast notes.

Its name, “Crottin,” comes from the Berry term crot, meaning “hole.”

Historically, these crots were riverside spots where linens were washed; the clay-rich soil found there was once used to shape the molds that drained the curds, giving the cheese its distinctive name and form.

Delicately flavoured and versatile, Crottin de Chèvre is delicious on its own or incorporated into recipes.

Try it baked in a tart with goat cheese and cherry tomatoes for a simple, flavourful dish.
